Editor’s Note: NolaVie partners with students of UNO professor László Zsolt Fülöp, pairing them with artists, non-profits, environmental groups, and cultural entities to facilitate a live curriculum that results in a short documentary. In this short doc, Seth Rodriguez interviews Edward Anderson, co-founder of Nola Art Music House, about the group’s efforts to bring more jazz concerts to New Orleans audiences.
Singin’ and Swingin’ on the Avenue features vocalists Leah Chase and Phillip Manuel, musicians Edward Anderson, Evan Christopher, Khari Lee and Mike Pellera, and the Holy Name of Jesus Children’s Choir under the direction of Colleen Maher. The seasonal songfest takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6367 St. Charles Ave. Admission is by $10 donation.
