Friday / Je ne sais quoi : This Friday kicks off the 15th New Orleans French Film Festival. Presented by the New Orleans Film Society and the Consulat General de France a la Nouvelle-Orleans, it is a 6 day long series showing many of Frances’s most notable films and stars. Because the films are presented in French with English subtitles, it’s the perfect date opportunity; you can be surrounded by the language of love and still understand the plot (and don’t forget, the French bistro Crepe Nanou is right around the corner). Saturday / Class in session : Big Class is celebrating its first three book projects with an exhibition this weekend at HomeSpace in the St. Claude Arts District. The New Orleans-based organization publishes books written and illustrated by public school children. Big Class motivates children to create original work, in addition to fostering collaboration within the artistic community at large. Sunday / Gone to market : The French Market Corporation and the Southern Food and Beverage Museum are hosting a free program highlighting the local cuisine of New Orleans. With Coolinary New Orleans in high gear, why not get a little more education on culinary culture on the cheap?
