A whine for street signs … in rhyme

Doggerel dog.ger.el:

a comic verse; marked by triviality

and of little literary value

Mardi Gras is over

And Super Bowl long past

So it’s on to new diversions

My god, they come on fast

There’s Final Four and fests galore

A Pirate Week for mateys

New food trucks here; new bakeries there

All serving up their tasties

(no groans, folks; it’s doggerel!)

But how to find these casual spots

To take in their sounds and sights

Methink it fair to remind our good mayor

It’s hard without street signs and lights!

So this final bad verse to this odious ode

Is to folk on their way out at night

Join my pleas, nay my whines, for replacing street signs

Join the fight for replacing the light.
