New Orleans sculptor, photographer and set design artist Elizabeth Shannon took a plunge into the fashion world with her first runway show Saturday at Fashion Week New Orleans. Sharon Litwin interviewed the designer pre-show; now Shannon weighs in with her own summation of the experience post-show.
Runway show, Take One
“… load in, wait, wait, wait, runway time change, friends in audience will get bored, 2 model changes, one model crying because she is sick and was bumped from us, 45-minute prep shortened to 20 minutes, no room to move, surrounded by models, hair/makeup, assistants out of nowhere, lineup, no time to critique, load out, go to markey’s bar for a few stiff ones, collapse in bed.
“… it was a great, eyeopening experience for a newcomer and I am thankful for all of the assistance provided by the staff in guiding me through.
