Why eat at one restaurant when you can eat at eight at once?
This Sunday, New Orleans Dishcrawl, a non-profit organization that arranges tastings at restaurants in rotating neighborhoods throughout the city, brings the event uptown. The handful of Garden District restaurants will include: Roux Public House, Honeydeux, Diva Dog, Down the Hatch, Voodoo BBQ, Food Drunk NOLA, and the Blind Pelican. Each establishment will offer a small plate and beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) at their respective restaurant. The restaurants are within walking distance of one another, so you can easily bounce – er, crawl, rather – from one joint to the next.
Tickets cost $10 per person (you buy them here), inclusive of one food and drink ticket and five raffle tickets. Each food and drink ticket can be exchanged for one dish or drink. Additional food and drink tickets cost $5. Check in begins at 1:30 PM at the Eiffel Society (2040 Magazine Street), and the restaurants will serve their dishes from 2 – 5 PM.
By the end of your sampling, you may need to consider more appropriately renaming your experience the dishwaddle.
