VIDEO: The Xmas tree drop

Last Thursday, thousands of Christmas trees were airlifted by helicopter and dropped into Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. February 20th marked the 15th annual “Christmas Tree Drop” program, which helps preserve our wetlands and animal life. You know that scary statistic about how we’re losing a football field of wetlands a day? Well this is one effort on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service, Mayor Mitch, and a few others who are on damage control to stop the rapid rate of loss. Nolavie friends Hard Road Pictures went to the drop to show what went down — literally.
