Recipe: Old New Orleans Rum’s king cake cocktail

Eat your cake and drink it too.

Eat your cake and drink it too.

With less than a week of Carnival left, time is running out to stuff yourself with enough king cake to last you through the year. Thus, if you want to make the most of the brief but beautiful lifespan of NOLA’s most coveted pastry, it’s time to eat your cake and drink it too. Enter, the king cake cocktail, made with the Big Easy’s very own Old New Orleans Cajun Spiced Rum.

The King Cake Cocktail (makes 1 cocktail)

1 scoop of cinnamon gelato

1 3/4 oz Old New Orleans Cajun Spice Rum

½ oz simple syrup

¼ oz Orange juice

¼ oz crème do noissete (hazelnut)

2 dashes Angostura bitters
