UNO documentary: New Orleans Moms Blog

Who: Ashley and Elizabeth, co-founders of the New Orleans Moms Blog, identified a gap in the Big Easy’s online community. A site for New Orleans moms to come together. The pair set out to fill this void by creating New Orleans Moms Blog, a site that links moms to their community and other moms within the GNO. The multi-author blog is host to a multitude of resources — from articles on post-partum depression to seasonal activity suggestions, sponsored giveaways to group events.

Film by: UNO student and filmmaker Demi Peralta

Editor’s Note: NolaVie partners with students of UNO professor László Zsolt Fülöp, pairing them with artists, non-profits, environmental groups, and cultural entities to facilitate a live curriculum that results in a short documentary. Contributor Jennifer Bernard-Allen recently gave Demi Peralta, a film student in the Department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans, a closer look behind the web platform bringing local moms together.

The Film and Theatre Department of UNO and NolaVie present this series of short films produced by the students in Laszlo Fulop’s documentary class. Read Renee Peck’s column about the program here.
