If it weren’t for the likes of Joy Division, Bauhaus, Killing Joke, and Sisters of Mercy, Interpol would be a figment of our imaginations. Or, at best, a pale comparison of what it is today.
On the heels of their latest release, El Pintor, the New York post-punk masters played to a nearly sold-out crowd last week at the House of Blues. The set was well rounded, with all the band’s releases accounted for, and moody lit to mirror the dark nature of the music.
Aptly, the band ended the night with “Stella Was a Diver and She’s Always Down.” You can see the set here: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/interpol/2014/house-of-blues-new-orleans-la-1bccb530.html and an extended gallery here: http://jalbum.net/a/1554672
