What: VetLaunch — a not-for-profit entrepreneurial organization that is geared specifically towards helping business-minded vets launch their startups. Since, VetLaunch fellows have competed in (and even won) nationally recognized pitch contests. Around the same time, Landing Zone — a coworking incubator (which VetLaunch operates out of) in the Lower Garden District that allows vet entrepreneurs to work independently, and simultaneously experience a sense of camaraderie they experiences in that services — also opened its doors.
Film by: UNO student and filmmaker Jasmin Cook
Editor’s Note: NolaVie partners with students of UNO professor László Zsolt Fülöp, pairing them with artists, non-profits, environmental groups, and cultural entities to facilitate a live curriculum that results in a short documentary. Jasmin Cook, a film student in the Department of Film and Theater at the University of New Orleans, spoke with VetLaunch program manager Jeremy Brewer about the two programs.
