AUDIO: ‘In the East’

Bring Your Own is a nomadic storytelling series that takes place in living rooms, backyards and other intimate spaces within the community. Each month, seven storytellers have 7 minutes to respond to a theme. BYO airs on “All Things New Orleans” and is a biweekly podcast on WWNO.org

This event — held on June 15, 2015 at Wonderland studios — was presented in partnership with Live Law, a national storytelling podcast that’s part of the Infinite Guest Network from American Public Media. The theme of the evening was “Eyewitness”, and here, Matt Sledge gives us a look into his first month as The Advocate’s Crime Reporter and his time spent in New Orleans East.
