Wednesday, August 31/The Ace Hotel (600 Carondelet): When you live in New Orleans, there’s no reason why Wednesday should not be a night full of decadence, performance, and dancing. That’s why the Three Keys at the Ace Hotel is putting on a queer hip hop party. RICA SHAY from NYC and DELISH from New Orleans will be live on stage, and local favorite Rusty Lazer will be on deck spinning to get everything inside of you moving. The event is free, open to the public, and it begins at 9:00 P.M. and runs until 1:00 A.M. For more details about the event, you can check it out here.

Wednesday, August 31/World War II Museum (945 Magazine Street): It is the 8th annual Culture Collision, which means it’s a time to wander around the WWII museum, pick up some seriously free swag, and learn all about how our city is exploding with culture. Dance, film, education, plants, NolaVie (that’s right, NolaVie), and many more culturally vibrant expressions will be represented all in one place and all on one night. Culture Collision runs form 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and you can find out full details here.

Friday, September 2/ 2240 St. Claude Ave: Can activities have a sexual preference? That’s a highlighted question in the “Alleged Lesbian Activities” group who is putting on a musical from Sept. 2 until Sept. 15. Inside of Franki’s bar, performers interact with previous generations of queer family through voice-overs pulled directly from Last Call’s oral history interviews with devoted customers of New Orleans’ lesbian bars of the 70s and 80s. The real question is, “Where did all the dyke bars go?” and that is exactly what Alleged Lesbian Activities is trying to answer (and solve). The event begins at 8:00 P.M., and for a full schedule and details of the performance, you can check it out here.

Saturday, September 3/Sydney’s Saloon (1200 Saint Bernard Ave): In case you ever wanted to dance like no one was looking, then Saturday night is the night for you. It’s not so much that no one will be looking but more that they won’t know it is you getting down with your bad self. Glitter Tits is taking over Sydney’s for a night of drag. That means ladies with beards, boy glitter lips, and anything else you can think of that bends your gender or personality. Doors open at 10:00 P.M., and the dancing starts when you are ready to let lose and bend your back, legs, and identity. For more details about the night, you can check out the event here.

Sunday, September 4/The French Quarter: The grand tradition of the all-walking, loads of dancing, and no motorized vehicles Southern Decadence Parade is taking to the streets on Sunday Afternoon. Oh, and there will be much more to talk about then the walking, dancing, and lack of vehicles, trust us. The parade starts near Decatur and Barracks Streets around 2:00 P.M., and it ends near Bourbon and Dumaine Streets. For a full map of the parade route, you can check it out here.
