Editor’s Note: There is so much live music in New Orleans, and sometimes it can be rather overwhelming to know what to hear, where to go, or what to do. Writer and music lover Wesley Hodges is giving weekly previews of the live music happening in New Orleans as well as some sneak previews into what is coming up. For a full view of Wesley’s suggestions, check out his facebook page.
It’s BUKU Project week in New Orleans and the dust, beads and mental fog from Mardi Gras has (almost) cleared. The electronic and hip-hop heavy BUKU lineup has some gems in there including Run The Jewels, Tycho, Yeasayer (replacing Washed Out), Car Seat Headrest, Thundercat and Clams Casino, among others. BUKU 2017 goes down this weekend at Mardi Gras World and you can still pick up tix here. The Blank Range and Wild Reeds show at Gasa Gasa on Thursday is another rockin’ show to look into (check Blank Range’s latest EP Vista Bent here).
