Driving to Work Down Willow Street: First Sip

Driving to work 
 
down Willow Street, 
 
crooked oak branches 
 
twist morning sunlight, 
 
turning it upside-down,
 
even inside-out, 
 
as their leaves granulate
 
the light into sugar 
 
to sweeten the day.
