Learning from Miss Helen 8/31/13

Knowing Helen will be ok without me, I relax …

I relax because I see Helen living her worst nightmare

Yet she is still able to enjoy the moment,

Still able to engage …

Without memory,

Without mobility,

She is still able to dance hand-to-hand,

She still finds things funny enough to laugh,

She still shimmies seductively when the music moves her.

Helen doesn’t care about what she has forgotten;

But she knows enough to know that it was good.
