Until The Day After Forever

On an afternoon worth forgetting,
so hot and bothered by this and that
of the everyday…
I stumbled into the heart of a flower
that reminded me of everything
I needed to remember about my place
in the totality of all things…
It spoke of beauty, of design,
and of the mystery of surrender…
And I promised myself that
if this world is both prequel
and sequel to an endless
chain of being, I will carry
the flower with me from
one iteration to the next…
Until the day after forever.
