Koan

I went fishing for a poem

but caught a koan instead.

It took me on such a wild ride

I thought I might drown

in a sea of complexity and

contradiction.

But I held on and didn’t give up

until we returned to where we started.

There I let go of everything

I didn’t need to know…

And then I watched as the koan

dissolved itself leaving me full of wonder

and all aglow.
