The New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts will host authors Jamey Hatley and Brad Richard at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the Kirschman Artspace room on NOCCA’s Bywater campus (2800 Chartres) for the fall installment of its 2012 – 2013 Creative Reading Series.
Jamey Hatley is a Memphis native whose fiction and nonfiction have appeared in the Oxford American, among other places. She won the 2006 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Award for a novel in progress (which, we understand, is still in progress) and is a member of the MelaNated Writer’s Group.
Brad Richard is the author of several books of poetry, including Motion Studies, which won the 2010 Washington Prize; Curtain Optional, published by Press Street; and the new collection Butcher’s Sugar. He is chair of the creative writing program at Lusher High School and co-director of the New Orleans New Writers Literary Festival and the Scholastic Writing Awards of Southeast Louisiana.
A reception will follow the reading, which is free and open to the public.
