With summer in full swing, evening seems to be the only time of day that we can go outside without feeling like we’re sitting inside a furnace, a sauna, or, at best, an easy bake oven fitted with an incubator bulb. So it’s disappointing when we sacrifice the evening weather to watch a show, right? The New Orleans Film Society
has you covered.
This summer, the NOFS hosts an outdoor film screening series at the Old US Mint (400 Esplanade) each Friday. This week the NOFS will screen Kazan’s 1950’s film noir, Panic in the Streets, which, in fact, was shot entirely on location in New Orleans. Admission is $3 for NOFS, LMF, FOC, and LSM members and $6 for nonmembers. The doors open at 7PM and the film begins at 8PM.
So bring out some chairs, snacks, and good company, and enjoy the show and a breeze.
