Festival recap: French Quarter Fest Insta-gallery

What began as a modest festival 31 years ago, an effort to bring locals back into the Quarter, has mushroomed in to one of the city’s most popular tests — attracting everyone from older couples who are FQ festin’ for the 31st time to the toddler in a Brees jersey, soaking in his first-ever festival experience; the local vendor serving his 100oth BBQ shrimp po-boy to the out-of-town college kid who pronounces it “poor-boy.”

There was music, there was dancing; there was sunshine and a few clouds; there was food (boy, was there ever food) and empty rows of empty go-cups; there was sweating, and port-a-pottys, and bag-checks; and best of all — there was an increasingly diverse display of festival-goers. Fortunately, like many festival goers, NolaVie was out and about ‘gramming it all.
