Housed in a restored historic 1800’s brick building in the Arts District and located in the American Sector, New Orleans School of GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio has been a non-profit studio & gallery since 1990. As the South’s largest studio of contemporary art, they offer: glassblowing & casting, scientific glass torch working, stained glass, silver alchemy jewelry, copper enameling, printmaking, engraving, paper marbling, and paper engineering (pop-up books). Educational and cultural exhibits are in the front room. New Orleans ArtWorks Gallery complements the spacious working artist studios.

The studio serves multiple purposes and provides an opportunity for breathtaking free daily demonstrations by local master craftsmen, often collaborating with international artisans in the traditional, elegant European style.

For 20 years, the New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio has been the largest facility of its kind in the entire South, providing free daily demonstrations allowing visitors to engage with the artists in the glass blowing arena, torch working workshop, and printmaking studio. Twice featured on the NBC Today show for the two hour walk-in courses that let visitors design and make their own glass paperweight or glasses, or experience torch working by making a glass sea-creature or pendant. The studio also provides opportunities for metal sculpture, copper enameling, printmaking, screen-printing, letterpress and paper marbling, as well as bookbinding. Guests can arrange workshops and experience hands-on tours. The New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is ideal for group receptions with live artist demonstrations! The New Orleans ArtWorks at the New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is located in the heart of the Arts District only 3 blocks downtown from the National World War II Museum. The spacious, sky-lit historic brick building houses a front room gallery which exhibits designs created by the local, New Orleans craftsmen and visiting, international artisans who work as a team in the adjoining, two-story working studios (New Orleans ArtWorks. http://www.neworleansglassworks.com/#!__master-000/vstc2=studios.
